Donor-Designated Scholarship Programs 

Achelis & Bodman Foundation Scholarship
This scholarship program provides 25 elementary and high school students partial tuition assistance.

Adeline O. Picozzi Scholarship
This scholarship was established by James and Victor Picozzi in honor of their sister, Adeline O. Picozzi, and provides four years of tuition assistance to high school students. Students must maintain a B average.

Albert & Bertha Gamper Scholarship
This program provides tuition assistance to students of Hispanic descent who remain academically qualified throughout four years of Catholic high school.

Anna DiBella Scholarship
The scholarship was established by the family of Tania and Joseph Guarneri in memory of Anna DiBella. It provides tuition assistance to a student from Saint Michael’s School in Newark to attend St. Benedict’s Preparatory high school.

Bernice C. Mullin Scholarship
This scholarship established by The Mullin family provides a four year scholarship to high school students

Bishop Michael A. Saporito Scholarship
Created by Ed & Joy Lara in honor of Bishop Michael A. Saporito. This scholarship provides tuition assistance for four years to one graduate of St. Michael Elementary school in Newark to attend St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark.

Cassidy Scholarship
This scholarship established. Funded for four students at Paramus Catholic Regional High School for four years.

Cunningham Scholarship
This program was established by former Executive Director of the Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children, Lorraine Cunningham and her husband James Cunningham.

Doris Rohwetter Scholarship
A scholarship program established by the late Doris Rohwetter to fund an annual scholarship for high school students.

Dr. Mimi Guarneri Scholarship
Provides scholarships for two students from
St. Michael School in Newark

Edward H. Mulcahy Memorial Scholarship
Gives seven students attending a Catholic high school within the Archdiocese of Newark partial tuition scholarships.

E.J. Grassman Trust Foundation
Provides direct grants to Catholic Schools in Union County for the purchase of equipment and support of special school programs.

The Frazza Family Scholarship
The Frazza Family established this scholarship program to provide tuition assistance to elementary school students. Recipients are eligible for annual renewal through grade 8.

George Link Jr. Foundation Scholarship
Providing 38 high school students with partial tuition assistance.

James Lynch Scholarship
Provides tuition assistance to a high school student.

Jeanne Marie La Blanc Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Robert & Elizabeth La Blanc, in memory of their daughter, Jeanne-Marie, to provide four years of tuition assistance to high school students.

Joseph & Maureen Lavin Scholarship
Established by Joseph & Maureen Lavin to provide tuition assistance to eight (8) Catholic elementary students attending St. Joseph the Carpenter Elementary School.

Joseph and Marie Tobin Memorial Scholarship
Established to provide 10 students of Catholic faith to attend Catholic School within the Archdiocese of Newark

Joseph Giancristofaro Memorial Scholarship
Established to provide assistance to two students who attend Paramus Catholic.

Mary L. Flynn Scholarship
This scholarship provides tuition assistance to elementary and high school students.

McCusker-McCarthy Immigrant Scholarship
Provides tuition and registration fees to students attending All Saints Academy who are baptized Catholic and active parishioners.

Michael & Julie O’Brien Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Michael and Julie O’Brien to provide tuition assistance to a Catholic elementary and high school student.

Mullin Family Scholarship
Established by Susan & James Mullin. Provides four year tuition assistance to high school students.

O’Toole Family Scholarship
Was established by Polly & Terry O’Toole to provide four years of tuition assistance to twelve high school students who reside in Newark or Irvington.

Opici Family Scholarship
Provides one high school student with assistance for four years.

Patrick Sean Murphy 9/11 Remembrance Scholarship
This fund was established in 2006 by Vera Murphy Traynor in memory of her late husband, Patrick Murphy. The scholarship provides four years of tuition assistance to academically qualified high school students.

Raymond & Margaret Schwartz Scholarship
Established by the Schwartz family in memory of their parents. This scholarship will provide tuition assistance for students attending Sacred Heart Elementary School located in Jersey City.

Robert E. Rossell Scholarship
Created by Robert and Mary Bowlin in memory of Robert E. Rossell. Provides tuition assistance to high school students.

Robert M. Kossick Scholarship
This scholarship program was established by Sherry O’Hearn in memory of her late husband Robert M. Kossick, a loyal trustee of SFIC. This fund provides four years of tuition assistance to a Catholic high school student.

Scavuzzo-Legano Scholarship of St. John’s Academy
Provide six students partial tuition assistance who are attending St. John’s Academy in Hillsdale, NJ. Families must have more that one child attending Catholic school within the Newark Archdiocese.

Schroth Family Scholarship
This scholarship program provides 20 students attending St. Michael Elementary School with partial tuition assistance.

Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Scholarship
Gives partial funding for one academically challenged student from St. Michael’s School in Newark.

St. John’s Bread of Life Scholarship
Provides 5 students attending a Catholic school and receiving SNAP Food Assistance.

SFIC Summer Space Camp Program at
The U.S. Space & Rocket Center

This program was established by Mark and Cathy Walchak. The scholarship provides inner-city Catholic high school sophomores and juniors with a one week expense paid scholarship to attend Advanced Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

Taranta Scholarships
Established by Brother Ralph D’Armento.
Provides 80 high school students with partial tuition assistance.

We Are The Living Stones Catholic Tuition Assistance Program
Created by The Archdiocese of Newark, this program will provide tuition assistance to Catholic students, from K-8, attending one of the Catholic elementary schools in East Orange, Fairview, Jersey City, Newark and Union. These scholarships will be based on financial need of students that are assigned to an Archdiocesan parish.
